It's only a matter of time before someone guts the shit out of one. You guys all know how much crap is in our 4th gen cars. Imagine how much sound deadening and safety stuff is in one of those. I bet you could get 200lbs out of it, and noone would even know. Put some kirkeys in it, get all the sound deadening out, some drag wheels
!bumper supports
!door bars
!traction control
You'll be seeing these things getting down to 3200-3300lbs in a year or so.'94 coupe, 10.15 at 133.65 414" LT1, 4500 stall, n/a, pump gas, mufflers, street trim

If we were talking about 700+ pound difference, then I might tend to agree with you on this one. But for 400 pounds difference over a regular 4th Gen, and the raw potential the LS3 gives over the LT1 and LS1, I still must argue against you.
Mod wise its obvious. Go right to the LS1 for example. What would it take mod wise (no nitrous) to make it hit 450 RWHP? My LS1 in my sig is a prime example of doing it cheep. I spent maybe $5,000 in heads, cam, intake, throttle body, fuel pump, injectors, exhaust, whisper lid, timing chain, pullies, ignition, oil pump, with a tune (440 RWHP). Thats pretty cheep compare to what it took me to attain 420 RWHP in my Camaro back in the day before I went all out with the blower.
Now here comes the LS3. Exhaust, CAI and a cam. Tuned does 460 at the wheels. I'll keep the extra 400 pounds thank you much

Guys we need to face the facts.
5th gen> 4th gen
Just the simple fact that the motor isn't buried halfway under the windshield seals the deal for me, lol. Have you guys seen under the hood of one of these things? There are literally no wires. You could do a header swap in 3-4 hours. You can actually reach every plug from the top. It is a welcome sight for sure. Very similar to a GTO under the hood. nine Ball ran a 13.07 in shit weather with his. Wait til the good drivers start racing them in cool fall weather. 12.7's and 12.8's will be the norm.'94 coupe, 10.15 at 133.65 414" LT1, 4500 stall, n/a, pump gas, mufflers, street trim

I'm not getting anything for a while (saving up for building a house). But, yes, I will probably get a Supra some day, and unless I find a lucky lottery ticket, I probably won't get a new Camaro
But none of that escapes the fact that I think the new Camaro is badass, and the LS3 has a TON of potential.1995 Z28 - disfunctional now, perhaps insane after its "treatment"
