Flowmasters and an X pipe are an oxy-moron.
Ditch the flows for a straight through style muffler, it will sound MUCH less raspy and make more power.

just get a 2.5" system... you most likely won't even need a 3" system.. it's overkill unless you're making around 450rwhp or more lol...

and you may need to take extra time to custom it a little to tuck up under a little better. the x pipe systems really don't hang much lower than y pipe setups as long as you put the extra time in.

oh yeah... ditch the cutouts if you're looking for ground clearance... the flanges on the cutouts take another 1/2" off ground clearance. if i didn't have one on my catback i would never scrape..

He already said he's doing it mainly for sound, I had one of those Flows on my '94 Z and it sounded pretty damn good.

With an X pipe or stock style single exhaust?

3" ORY to 2.5" pipping, muffler before the axle, straight pipes out back routed like a LM catback w/ stock rectangle tips.

Are those mufflers bad with a X pipe for some reason?

They are fine in a single or an H pipe application.

An X pipe does not perform as it should with ANY chambered style muffler (like a flowmaster). A straight through style muffler will perform the best with an X. An X with flowmasters will also be VERY raspy.

I think your definition of rasp is different then mine because Im not hearing any rasp in Matt's setup.

Im open to ideas but I stand firm on the fact that I am doing this for sound, and flowmasters sound the best from what I have seen. I was going to do aerochambers before but changed my mind. I am pretty sure I could see straight through the aerochambers on my truck even though they are "chambered". I changed my mind because they are longer. Also... you want me to get rid of the cutouts - why would i do that if I can uncap them and bypass the restrictive mufflers??

    aerochambers are cheaper.... hmm.
