opens right up for me. its still online and he has no urge to take it down. i told him a few years back when hes done let me know and ill take it over/pay to host it

I've noticed it’s a bit slow recently. Particularly when I embed links in a post. I add a caution below the links warning that it may be “slow”. Takes a while but it eventually opens.
