That's why i have insurance on my phones through Sprint.
They don't cover water damage, but they DO cover "lost". It's really hard to find water damage on a "lost" phone
. Don't say stolen.. they want a police report
Try to pronounce it.... hmmwv.... hmmmmmv.... hummv... HUMMVEE

Should of just bought an ebay phone for cheap and activated it on their website for free.
I just busted a phone, and a buddy sold me his Krazer for dirt cheap.
Will never go through Verizon again for a phone. You're just throwing money away. Keep that in mind.-Tom

I'm actually going to say that even after 5+ years with Verizon, I am completely happy with their customer service, ESPECIALLY when compared to Sprint, whom I was with for 4 years and absolutely hated.
Case in point. Dropped my LG EnV last year, had the insurance, new phone no problem. Fast forward to December, my wife was doing laundry and I had inadvertantly left my phone in my pocket. Dead phone obviously. But, I was within the 6 month window for the insurance replacement, so I was SOL. Figured I'd go to the VZW store and get a new phone then and just renew my contract. NOPE. Those advertised prices are for new and "within the renewal zone" contracts ONLY. Someone just wanting to upgrade has to pay about double the price. So I called customer service from the store, explained the situation, and they said "Well your new every two for this line is up on January 2nd (date I called was December 13th)." So, figuring it's worth a shot, I asked if they could change that to help me out. They did.
Only catch now was that I had ordered a BB Storm for my wife for Christmas. Couldn't activate a new phone with a pending order. So I had to wait a day for her Storm to come in so we could activate the phone which cancelled the pending order, then deactivate it so she wouldn't know about it until Christmas day. I ended up with a new LG Dare without much of a hassle at all other than having to call customer service.
I for one am happy with Verizon. Don't get me started on Sprint. Been over 5 years since I left and I'm still bitter.

I shouldnt have said that Verizon itself had bad customer service, but rather their company they go through for their phone insurance. By far the worst customer service I've ever seen.
Lost a phone last summer, pay the $50 charge, only to be sent a phone (remanufactured) in which the buttons dont work on it. Figured it was an honest mistake and didnt make a big deal out of it. Sent it back to them, and A few days later I got another one that worked fine.
Just a few weeks ago, I dropped my phone in the snow when shoveling, and it didnt work after that. Called up verizons insurance company, paid the $50, and once again they send me another phone that doesnt work. Now I'm pretty frusterated because they were 0/2 with me. If it was a one time thing like I said, its not a problem, but the second time in a row??? I wasnt happy at all. I tried talking to the people there, got hung up on 3 times after being on hold for about 30 mins each time, I was just about ready to find a new phone company to deal with.
