Guess I mistook the price of stamp, for the price of buying a full auto firearm. My bad.

to own a full auto is jumping threw a pile of hoops... I wonder how you guys as a police department do a transfer? do they have to go directly to a class 3 distributor?

all the pre ban 1986 guns i thought were the only full auto's available to the public? or are some LEO guns getting cycled into the system? i don't think they are

The tax stamps are available to the public with atf approval. Depending on what you are applying for (automatic weapon, short barreled rifle, suppressor) the price changes. Been a while since i looked into it but it was 150-500. The class 3 dealer license was 5k a year when I last looked.
Larry, I'm not sure on the legalities are on your department transferring them. I would say that they will have to be transferred to a class 3 dealer (or most likely, another department) before going to someone with a stamp but I'm not sure.

Ask your captain or whoever is in charge on how you guys sell those if you don't mind. Im just interested on how it work's. Only full auto stuff i see for sale is pre 86' stuff.

I didnt think law enforcement stuff got into the system where the general public could purchase. I know many manufactures still make full auto stuff obviously for military and law enforcement but didn't think it got mixed in with the pre ban guns

Civilians can't own them(after ban) dealers and police departments can. These will probobly be bought by a dealer refurbished and resold. Or junked.
A dealer with a shooting range can let people shoot them do reviews loan them ect.
