    Default More nitrous newb questions

Hey guys, been reading up alot ( posts from zooguy, chopstix, dawdaw, etc) and im still nervous about spraying, that said i still have some questions, just wanna clarify some stuff for my individual setup. I have a compucar wet system with a nozzle set up for 125 hp. Which plugs at what gap? Will 4 deg retard be enuff or should i start with more? And currently im running the stock fuel pump, should i spray with this one or should i wait til i get a walbro / racetronix? Lastly, concerning the fuel pump, i think 255 lph is enough, or should i go to a 340 lph? Mods are below, if you need more info just ask. I'm really nervous about using n2o but at the same time i've been itching to spray real bad! Thx guys as always i appreciate the help

Chopstix give you better answer then me but here goes. Id run the ngk bref7 plugs gapped at .035. Id also start by pulling 6 degree. Cheak plugs then add timing back if needed. Also id go ahead and get new 255 pump. Id be afraid to spray on a 20+ year old pump. Rather be safe then sorry. Good luck and have fun. Report back to us the results.

almost the exact answer i would give but for a 125 shot a br6ef is just fine and the br7ef is a little cold for that ... i would go to the 7s on a 150-175 shot.

get a fuel pressure gauge and mount it where you can see it well. go do a few WOT pulls in first or second gear if your psi stays strong at 43.5 then i would just keep the stock pump .... i have been spraying a 200 shot and pulling off the fuel rail still and the car is still loading up on fuel and going way way rich. but i keep a VERY VERY close eye on my oil and fuel psi .... i have the gauges mounted in the center stock vent holes.

pull 6* check plugs and add back as needed till its happy ...

Ok, so I'm gonna order more pills, and hold off til I get the 255. I would like to hear some more opinions on plugs though... Thx so far guys, really appreciate it. Any other nitro guys wanna chime in?? Don't be shy.. Haha

I always start the tuning process with more timing pulled than I think I need, and a colder plug....BR7EF and 6-8* out is where I would start as well...it all depend son what your base timing was set at with the cam tune...I also would upgrade the pump before spraying

    Nitro is nitromethane.
Also you guys are pulling a lot for a small shot. If he uses good quality fuel it wont need that much pulled. Also what does the manual say for your system. They should give fuel psi and timing recommendations.

^^ sorry, I know, blame the nitro thing on damn autocorrect , noice, I don't have a manual, it's an old compucar system that's been laying around, hence all my questions. Thx for chiming in guys, still open for input from others, but I think I've got a good starting point so far

another quick question, wheres the optimum location to mount my wet nozzle, I got a trickflow elbow knockoff from ebay that im gonna have to drill. compucar says 1.5 inches from the throttle body but my question is should I put it directly in the middle or on one side? im just a little nervous mounting on one side because of the dual opening throttle blades or does this not matter? thanks @Chopstix
