I mean it's probably a bit better then being lean to a degree and burning a piston but over timed and rich you will lift a ring land if it's way off. .. honestly if I were you get a hold of him and if he has a wide band have him run it on the street and take some fuel out of the stock tune and have him pull timing ... Also you could have a couple small other things like the fans come in early and maybe line pressure bumped up. .. @sweet-94z28

You got a good tuner 45 minutes from ya... might as well keep your lt1. .. much cheaper and less head ache

And keep good gas in it still even if you get timing pulled. . Make one of those cheap dedicated cells out of the washer fluid box and put some c 16 In it.. she will live then

I've ran a 150 before on 93 octane with 34 degrees of timing without an issue. Problems arise on more nitrous than that with pump gas. You build an exponentially larger cylinder pressure spike as you increase the shot size. A 200 shot is a gamble for sure. With pressure comes heat, and forged pistons handle that a lot better than Hypereutectic ones (even though the stock Mahle pistons are badass for stockers).

My best guess would be to pull 4-6 degrees of timing to avoid the pressure spike and pray that the better fuel will keep the pistons cool enough to avoid meltdown. And dawdaw is right, too much fuel, and you'll lift a ring land. I think c16 and a fuel cell for it are great ideas!

Theres an an article somewhere on LS1Tech where a guy has something like a 250 shot on a stock ls1 and he's been doing it for quite a while. It's a good read to learn about nitrous and how to run big shots with little damage.

the swap is happening, it's too late to turn back. i have pretty much everything other than new fluids. the only thing left to decide is will the current motor come out together or apart.

@sweet-94z28 what would it cost to get the timing pulled if i brought the car to Jackson?

how do you setup a pump to get it from the washer tank to the solenoid? have to buy an inline pump?

Yes that would be your best bet. .. you would be running 10 psi om the fuel side more then likely so make sure you jet your fuel jet down accordingly to there scale for 10 psi. .. I bet you could do the whole system pretty Damn cheap. ..

Sell all your ls garbage. ..then you'll have a bunch of extra dough... you got a good tuner in your back door and your not gonna a go any faster with a stock 5.3..

Gonna be a major headache to swap In a slower motor. . But again that's just my opinion

Let me know if you need a washer fluid resovoir... I got one in great shape and I could meet ya somewhere like last time

Will the washer tank stand up to C16...?
