Should be easily doable on the motor. I ran a 12.15 @ 112 the other night in decent conditions, and still have more to get. I was getting lockup of the TC and was dropping RPM just past the 1/8. Once i get that tuned out im hoping to grab 11's. The car has run 12.1 strictly bolt on and now just trying to dial it back in with the engine rebuild and cam change. Keep stripping weight, add the 1.6 rr's and youll get there before you know it!

Sorry to the OP for the hijack
I asked on camaroz28.com but I haven't heard back. @Mystery Bird Did you run the recommended 918 springs with the 280XFI cam? Did you have any valve float issues or have to swap them to a different spring?-David-

To the OP. At this point you have to decide what you want to do with the car. A bolt on only 11 second LT1 is possible (as some of our members can prove) but I would not say it is easy. If you want to get in the 11 second range, heads and cam is the way to go.
I am currently running a cobbled together heads and cam set up with 1.60 60' times and my 10 bolt is currently holding up behind my stalled auto. I think a properly set up 10 bolt will be fine for mid 11's but it's still a crap shoot with those 10 bolts.-David-

I went 11.70s on a 150pill. Stock longblock 6speed and a 4.10. headers and exhaust, that was it.

Get some drag wheels and tires, this alone will probably be worth 1.5 mph or so in the traps and maybe a tenth or so, without changing anything else. Swapping that 3.42 for a 3.73 gear would help too.
With $2k, you can get an electric water pump, ud pulley, and then get a good cam kit and dyno tune and that will probably put you right around 12.0 at 110-ish.
If the intention is to do heads and cam, the budget probably needs to be closer to 3k including tune, if you go with either AI or LE. A heads/cam package from either of those would probably put you solidly in the mid-11s.Cayenne Red Metallic 1997 Z28 M6
