Three cylinders valve seals done. Cylinders 1 and 3 went like clockwork this morning. Cylinder 7 was a PITA! No header clearance to get the air source on the spark plug hole. Cross thread. Clean the threads......FINALLY pulled the extension off and managed to snake the hose in. Just got done changing number 7. Probably pull a late nighter tonight, and by the end of day tomorrow should have all valve seals done. Not spending nonstop time on it though. In the building process of 5 display frames for folks, family in town, etc. Escaping when I can right now.

As much as I work with them, piece of cake. That nicopp line is a breeze to work with too.

Yaay. 50% of the valve seals are done. Just have the passenger side of the motor to do. FML.

Damn man... like one hell of a can of worms you opened and not able to enjoy the car in the good season. IIRC you started this because of the minor smoking issues?

Well....the initial start of this was the dead opti last spring (2013). Spent all 2013 laboring like a Hebrew slave in auto shops hating life, So never wanted to work on my own stuff. Fast forward to this year, I'm just taking it a little bit at a time. I've really lost interest in the car. The smoking wasn't minor, it was concerning to me and I'm hoping the valve seals clear it up. I think between sitting on a stand for 3 years and then dumping turbo soul back in on them on the passenger side with the poor drawback on the TFS heads was just too much. Smoking initially was a puff at throttle shutting. It progressed to an idle hazing all the time, and cleared up a bit when I moved the turbo oil return from the valve cover to the back of the manifold.

Once it's running again I may be happier with it. That's what's keeping me doing work on it little by little.
