I'll give you the same advice I gave @firebird_1995 add a bottle or two of dry gas and add 5 gallons of fresh 93 octane gas to eliminate your random backfire.

Its not random. Its only on cylinder 8 and its only when ur coming off idle. as soon as u barly touch the gas is pops

Yep. Fresh gas and HEET fuel system drier. For my issue I also took Larrys advice to put fresh spark plugs in. As it turns out, the combination of the two healed me up. I've come to find out that my "boosted" setup WILL NOT run on a colder than stock plug. Not sure what the issue is there but.......anyway
I would check the plug for cracks in the porcelain, burned spark plug wire, or most commonly on that side, a wire that has came out of the retainer around the alternator pulley and rubbed through to the core.

Im gunna check plug wires before I pull the opti again. I may have pulled one off or be bad. How many ohms per inch ?

well guys all that work has went down the drain I got a bad short block but the guy was cool and is giving me my money back. then I got a call from a friend of mine in cincy. he sadi he has a corvette short block I can have just needs rebuilt. cool no worries.
Im going to OK next week for a few months to get custody of my daughter so wont be doing any work on it. but will be saving as much money as I can to get it running when I get back. thanks for all the help guys. Don't worry ill still be floating around here...

Hey guys a lil update for y'all. I go to court in 2 weeks, at that point my daughter will be placed with me permanently. She's very happy about it and spending lots of time with daddy. She's excited to get home and help daddy with his car too..
