T minus 30 minutes...

Landed an interview today at 2...I'm a bit excited because it is sounding VERY promising. One of the guys I used as a reference told me they called...normally that wouldn't happen unless they are pretty interested.

well, I got the job. As long as their insurance will cover me, and my drug test comes back good. I am pretty excited. They will for sure have an answer by Monday on those 2 things. Hopefully sooner.

I hope everyone takes the time to read this because I think it's very important. Most of us here have some sort of training or knowledge in certain fields. For some of us, those fields may be those that the average person may not know a whole lot about. For me, it's automatic transmissions. I've been building them professionally for over 23 years. It's not a big secret that automatics are an area where most general mechanics lack quite a bit of knowledge. I spend alot of time on this board, as well as several others, answering transmission tech questions and trying to help others resolve transmission issues. I've spent countless hours on the phone with people I don't know, trying to walk them through problems. I've actually had people ask why I spend so much time helping other when in most cases, I don't see any reward for it. It's simple, people. It's not always about the money. Sometimes it's just about helping a fellow car enthusiast who's having a difficult problem that they can't figure out.
Why do I bring this up? It's simple. While I may have a substantial amount of transmission knowledge, I don't know as much about everything. If my heater breaks, I'd like to think someone might be able to walk me through fixing it. I know nothing about plumbing or electrical work, so it would be nice if someone were willing to give me tips if I ever needed. We're having electrical gremlins with the Vette right now. There is a wiring guru on the Corvette forum that I sent a PM to. His reply was his phone number and a simple message..."Call me". I was on the phone with him for an hour, running through all the possibilities that could be causing our issues. We think he pointed us in the right direction, but even if it doesn't fix the car, it was nice to know that a stranger took some time out of his Monday night to try to help me. This mans name is Bill Curlee, and we owe him great thanks.
Think about all this for a minute. If you run across someone who has questions about a field you specialize in, don't be short with them. Try to help if you can. Eventhough you may not ever get "repaid" by that particular person, you may need help from someone else down the road...

Id help anyone out if i can, within reason. Its the people i offer help then dont listen when i say i have a normal 9-5 job with a 2 hour each way commute and im not gonna tolerate people being ungrateful dicks when im already going out of my way. If i tell you itll work but its a bad idea and will fail, dont call me at 2 am yelling that what i told you broke something. Know what i mean?

So basically, if ur heat or central air breaks call/pm me. I bite my finger nails so i dont do plumbing besides water piping lol.

Also, thru the trials and tribulations of this hunk of crap known as my formychicken, i have recieved alot of help and i am thankful for it. Sorry if i was short or annoying with anyone. I hate intermittent problems....
