    Default *** Tuner Pro / WinFlash / DataMaster - No connection with '93 SD LT1 ***

Anybody have issues getting these programs to connect to a '93 PCM? Is there something I am missing?

Says connected, but the "dash" stays on 4600 rpm, and none of the gauges move at all. Won't log anything either.

Was trying to check what the ECM thought coolant temp was as I am fighting a cooling fan issue right now.

    Thanks all in advance!

Try using just datamaster. Make sure the communication is set up on the right port. What cable are you using?

    Ummmm, ALDL from.......... OBD Diagnostics.

When I open the setup on Datamaster ALL the ports are grayed out. It is port 7 on my other software and I just connected it to the Nova at the Shootout. Head scratching continues.

Ok, datamaster isn't seeing the cable probably. You using a USB to Serial converter? Drivers updated?

Yes and yes. Gonna mess with it some more tomorrow. Wasn't sure if the difference in being a 93 is what was hanging me up.

Update. A regular Innova OBD-I scanner won't even connect to the ECM. ECM won't tell the fans to turn on, and had intermittent issues the past couple days.

Have to pump or hold the pedal down to get it running.
Died on me a few miles down the road. Got it started and back home.
Started right up tonight, then would idle a second and die. pedal it to keep it running a few seconds and it would idle.
ABS INOP light on out of nowhere.
SES Light on, and I can't see the codes because nothing will connect to it. Jump the DLC and I just get a constant flash of the SES, not codes flashing.

    Bad ECM ? ? ?

It was dark by the time I got home. Will try again tomorrow. Just bothers me now, that NO scanner will connect to it what so ever.

Before condemning the ecm check all your grounds.....especially with the abs light coming on as its independent of the ecm. If you want another ecm to try I'll ship mine to ya since car won't be running for a while. Just lmk.

If the fans run when you jumper the dlc I would say the pcm is not the problem. What does that scan tool use for power? Cig lighter or clamps to the battery?
I know our obd1 scanner doesn't communicate if you don't have a good connection.
