Genuine SLP Wall Display WS6/Ram Air Hood for '93-'97 Trans Am/Firebird
**UPDATED**
$300 Firm, Moving and must sell ASAP. No Trades (I found wheels so it is for sale only).
I have a Genuine SLP Ram Air H.O. hood that has never been installed on any Firebird/Trans Am. It fits a '93-'97, and this is the hood that was actually on display, mounted on the wall at SLP in Quebec. I bought it to possibly install on my old Trans Am that I used to have, but ended up selling the car instead. It is all original, paint is very nice & the only flaws on it are from it being damaged during shipping to the previous owner. The rear corners (by where the windshield is) were flexed slightly and the paint cracked a little, and a few pieces of fiberglass chipped off. For a good body shop it is a very easy fix. I personally think it is a great collector piece because of the fact it is SLP's personal display hood & may be 1 of 1. I will ship it but you will need to make any and all shipping arrangements, I'm busy packing and do not have time to get a bunch of quotes (sorry!). Located in Adrian, MI : )
Here is a pic that I got from the previous owner of the hood shown on display back in the '90s:

also it is shown in this old episode of "American Muscle Car" (watch from 2:17 through 2:35ish in the video):

I wouldn't mind having the hood. But sadly only happen to have a sleek beak LS hood

I have a SLP SS hood on my 94 even though they didn't come out until 96. Your hood with its history should be worth more but I couldn't get anyone to buy my hood for any kind of reasonable price. I'm talking like $500 bucks for a hood that will fit perfectly and has one scratch where people key'd my hood. I remember them going for around $1000 or more.
People kept offering $200-300 bucks. Good luck with the sale, but I'd hang it on the wall like it was and in 20 years sell it.

Here is an example, that piece on the left is a Dealer Installed 1955 Bel Air Convertible oil filter, there is a version out there that has a cast iron filter housing that is on the other side that most people threw away. It is worth $3000, I bet no one thought that when they got rid of it.68 Mechanical Alcohol Injected LT1.

Trading for a hood could work, but sadly I think you'll have trouble getting much out of it. Even as it is what it is, it needs body work and repainted, which isn't cheap, and then its not original slp paint...

The amount of bodywork it needs is minimal, the whole hood does not need to be completely repainted. If you found a quality body shop, they could easily scan the red (which is OEM Bright Red) and they could blend the new paint into the original paint. I was quoted roughly $400 to have this done but the shop I spoke to is a drive for me. It's not like this hood is junk.... it's not perfect but it won't take much to make it that way. Just needs a little TLC & someone who realizes what a collector piece it is.

I figured $400 ish, but its still had something other than factory paint on it and has been damaged. Which sadly knocks the collectors value down in my eyes. Fiberglass is fiberglass and if its damaged there's always a weak spot even after repair. If you paint just a section, they can match it, but it will always fade differently if its on a car. Not saying its junk by any means. Just my thoughts

It's perfectly fixable and just like anything that has collector value, if it is repaired right then the minor flaws it does currently have will not completely ruin it's value down the road. For being an almost 20yr old hood I think it has survived pretty well, it's a lot nicer than most of the OEM WS6 hoods I've seen locally for sale (that will fit a '93-'97). Just the fact that it still exists (say 20 yrs from now) would be awesome for a collector or even a previous employee of SLP. There's plenty of people who are into nostalgic stuff especially since Pontiac is no more....
