    I'm gonna put it right out there, my neighbor bought his '92 Vette from the dealer, only owner. Pulled the engine to rebuild and it has a 2-bolt main.

    Mystery solved.

    Mystery solved indeed, it's a mixed bag. I bought a pull out from a 94 vette and got a 4 bolt main block, so looks like they used both.

    Pretty much a crap shoot

    It was almost like someone on some assembly line screwed up back in the day, and all the 4-bolts where supposed to go somewhere specific, and maybe noone labeled them once the pan went on. Then it was, oh grab the next one and put it in the next car on the line.

    haha ok well i know with the gen 1 vetts they were 4 bolt mains maybe the lt1s were diff ,os i guess ill say sorry to popo ill keep my nose in the old gen 1 blocks from now on lol
