and i thought maybe it was plugs...been noticing exhaust has a fat smell...and now at wot...even though runnin better...she is huffing some smoke.

Could be plugs, you said it was running rich... although not sure how octane would help it start lol.

lol... that i dont know... but maybe timing which has lead to shitty plugs?

U think it needs more or less timing?

Higher octane = slower burn so its igniting later than it was. If it were me I'd try turning the timing back a degree or two. Should be easy with the distributor. Might wait to burn the 112 out tho. Give you more run time to make sure it wasn't just a coincidence and also avoid having to readjust when you go back to regular pump gas.
Of course for all the work that's gonna take you could drop an LTX in... Lol

LOL.. it may get one, one day.. carb'd though.. nice and simple. The car is a spliced and disgusting assortment of wiring harnesses, that would make an FI LTX even more of a nightmare... but we will cross that bridge later.

Ok..Ill run the fuel out of it first and see how it is runnig till the tank is done. Amazing tha 5 gallons of 112 in a FULL tank of 93, can be noticeable? Hope its not in my head. lol

Well full tank of 93 - 5 gallons of 112 how much does that leave you? Maybe 11? So that's about 33% 112 so your actually running about 100 octane (this is all in my head n I've been awake all day so it might be off lol)
either way if your only a degree or two off that's enough octane boost to handle it. Regular to premium is what 89 to 93? Not saying that it IS the fix but seems like what I'd go with as a plan of attack. Course reading your plugs couldn't hurt. That's how I learned mine had problems with over fueling, the strong smell wasn't enough to tip me off lol

Thanks. I do what I can to help out because I've been in the spot where I didn't really know what to do and I know how nice it is to just have someone to bounce ideas off of. Actually up until about two months ago I didn't really know what BLMs were for, but now I'm pretty confident in how to use them for tuning. I love diagnosing problems, its fun to me cuz if I'm right I feel like I helped and if I'm wrong I usually learn something. I just do a lot of research when I'm bored, that's usually how my projects get started. That's why I'm on here all different times of the day lol.
Keep us posted, I'm interested to see it running good to see how the wet kit does and how you get it set up. That was my next step for my LTX until I had a few hiccups. Plus if you don like it ill buy it at discount from ya lol.

One more question... if the car turns out to be running good with its current timing and the mixed fuel... techincally its a more powerful car on the mixed fuel

. i coulld theoretically just keep running it on a fuel mix rather than retading timing
