    "it wouldnt save the tune???"

Our computers get FLASHED... its not a matter of saving the tune.. it overwrites the tune.

And he fried your computer.. unless they plan on socketing it..IDK that it can be save... (maybe, but def not worth it)

And your "TUNER" gave you a computer to drive home with from a car that clearly had mods you dont... THATS GENIUS!

HEY... but I guess the price was right!

    Who is this TUNER?[/QUOTE]

He is o co-owner of a performance shop, when he tried to put the tune on the ecm it never changed anything, so i guess why it wasn't keeping the tune....my ecm was on it's way out.

You know how when the ecm is flashing, the fans and the fuel pump kick on for a second? Mine wasn't, never did, he said that obd2 lt1's are pretty fragile, so i guess i had one that was fragile.

Hopefully if the guy from tunercats fixes it, i dont have to buy a new ecm

What is an ECM that is "on its way out?" A computer works, or it does not work.. they do not slowly go out. What is he feeding you... and yes, LT1 computers do not like repeated flashing ... however, if he flashes it.. its over written.

He clearly does not know what he is doing.. HOW DO I KNOW.. becuase i have dealt with MANY tuners who did not know how to tune... to did not know how to tune LT1s.. and I have seen BIG BIG differences from the people that DO know to the ones that dont....

so again.. eat it up... cause he is feeding you alot...

    AGAIN, WHO IS THIS TUNER?

i dont know his last name, but his first name is steve. Works at redline performance down in crystal city. I asked multiple people who i should go to to tune, and they all told me to go to steve.

I know my car was jacked with before because when he was looking at the monitors, about 90% of them were turned off...do you think it could have been a problem with what the previous owner had done?

BTW, Im not being a dick to you.. Im annoyed of another tuner who does not know what they are doing.... taking someones money and blaming something else..

My first tunner used to fry my computers ALOT... said it was because they were "delicate".. I started buying NEW ones.. he kept doing it..... TILL I bought a lap top just for tuning.. turns out all the viruses his laptop (that he uses for everything) throwing up pop ups during the tune was the issue.

My next tuner couldnt clear my 5g misfire.. blamed my opti;..... A gazillion optis later... it was still the bad opti design...

Finally.... I found a place that could tune... and fix the things with the car that were short falls..... Its smooth... its driveable.. and it makes the most power it ever did...... and YES it cost more...

you get what you pay for.

Close.. I think the last new one I got was 100.... then the GM dealer charged a few bucks to put my vin in it... but that one got fried as well...lol

Anyways... I suggest, you contact MOE, or HERTER... and you ship it out... and have it done right.. You need some monitors set for you to pass emissions..... its simple for them to do that mail order.

I agree, you do get what you pay for, but $100 for just a emissions tune so i can get it licensed seems a little high, but i guess now if worse comes to worse it will be $200

100 bucks for a tune? The last tune I had put on my car cost me almost 400 bucks and that was 4 years ago. Tuning is NOT cheap, period. You CLEARLY have no clue as to what goes into a tune to think that 100 bucks is steep for a tune, even if it is just for emissions.

Correct.. Add it up when its finally right, and see if you had chosen the more expensive route in the beginning... which one cost more.

BTW, dont forget to add the fuel of running there two times and driving home 2 times....
