If I understand it correctly....

1993 gen 1 opti,

1994 gen 1 opti. OBD1 port, OBD1 computer OBD1 harness (wire routing)

1995 gen 2 opti. OBD2 port, OBD1 computer, modified wiring for harness or for port (unsure).

1996 gen 2 opti. OBD2 port, OBD2 computer, OBD2 harness.

Im a little tired and I didnt want to read from the beginning AGAIN.... have you been able to plug into the computer and see if it had a chance to toss any codes...

Its a long shot, being that it didnt run long.. but you did say it ran for a little.....
