"happy" ANNIVERSARY TO ME...
As some of you whom are my friends on facebook have seen.... When the clock strikes 08/28/2012.... It will be my 11 year Anniversary with the unappreciative shit hole of a department I work for.....
A department, that 11 years ago, I was SOOOO PROUD to have my first day working for.....
Who wouldve thought that 11 years later, they wouldve let me know, Im expendable... just a pair of "last years boots" that once a hole has worn in them... they are not worth fixing... just toss em in the trash......
I remember, others having carpul tunnel surgery, and we would all call to see how that employee/officer/road crew person was doing..... to the road crew guys who had heart attacks.... we always got a card... we always, threw some loot together for a gift card to let them know we were thinking of them..... Hell, for Christmas, I would buy the secretary flowers and a gift card, and sign a card.... "Your other kids....U.P.P.D" but noooooooo, not me.... I get dirty games, and dick head emails...... with the exception of one partner at work, who checks on me all the time...... Its clear they threw this "boot" away...
Anyways, I know you all know Ive been struggling with the back thing for a while, and I seem to need to vent more and more often as time goes on.... 579 days today of being injured.... 319 days, since I worked investigations and the Chief told me to go home , "there was no more work for me..." THATS RIGHT, I SOLVED ALL OF THE CRIME IN MY TOWNSHIP.
So anyways..... "happy" 11 year ANNIVERSARY to me.....
2001 198 pounds of POPO

2003 Arrest of my first Armed Robber....

Me receiving an award from THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY, after wrestling with a man who had stolen a vehicle, broken into a home, and claimed to have planted a bomb in another vehicle.

Little photo shoot for the yellow pages legal section, thats why the dept name has been removed from the car. Came up with this idea, in exchange for the yellow pages to buy us tazers since our Township was so pitifully BROKE.

On the phone with my supervisor, as the newspaper catch a shot...

Where I will probably be soon.....

Happy Anniversary Popo. I know its been a rough ride but you have some incredible achievements to be extremely proud of under your belt.
On an unrelated note the pic of you arresting the armed robber makes me think of the Rock.

It's all good man, many of us have "whined" before lol. I know I've done my fair share when I was in a similar situation.
I know I've said this before, but there is a future out there for you once you get through the all the messiness now. Something I've been slowly learning, is that a person is not defined by their job. A person defines their job. If a person is worthless, they'll make the job look worthless, if the person is exemplary, they make the job look exemplary. Just because your department doesn't appreciate you, doesn't mean that all the people you helped don't either. I remember a picture you posted a while back of a thank you card you got from one of the victims you helped get justice for. And I know the pride you took in each and every lowlife scumbag you put behind bars. I'm sure that those people who you helped are still very grateful that Officer Hanna was there for them, and that he cared enough to do due diligence and catch the evil bastards that haunted them.
Once this is all done and settled, you'll still be LEO. You may not have a badge anymore, someone like you who takes so much pride in the job won't just let it slip away because you are no longer employable by a department. You'll bleed blue till the day you die. And I know you'll be there still for people when they need you.
We all have faith in you here man. It may be dark now, but keep staring at your shadow and you'll forget all the good you have done, and all the good and great things you have yet to do!
One more thing. I don't think you'd fit in too well as a rent a cop!
