    Wow, pretty sweet...

I dont have anything to backup really, but itd be nice to have it stay working in the small chance the power goes out (doesnt usually go out here, but when it does... it does...)

Keep this gaming rig I paid an arm and a leg for (that I dont even have the time to use for gaming anymore) running alll the time...

I'm in the same boat as you Fixx, the power doesn't go out round here very often but when it does it goes out for a few hours at a time. The most recent one was a couple weeks ago the power went out at 5 and didn't come back until around 9:30.

Yeah, actually had almost the same scenario here... about the same amount of time..

How it went down : Heard a HUGE crack of thunder and the sky lit up for a couple seconds solid.... No power 2 minutes later for like 3-4 hours... Damn thing must have struck a couple houses away, it was THAT loud. Car alarms going off everywhere close by for the next 10 minutes. Hailed 3 or 4 seperate times that day, too. This was all about a month or so ago.

I had to get a nice UPS cause of our poor wiring in the rental house we're in. The front half is all on one breaker. A/C on and microwave = breaker trip. Had my OS get corrupted after one too many hard shutdowns (it's the chance I take with a RAID 0 setup).

Nice setup. Kinda along the lines of mine:

Asus Rampage III Gene X58 board
I7-950 OC'd to 4.02 GHZ and ultra stable
12gb of the low voltage super overclockable Samsung Memory running at 1750 mhz IIRC (3 x 4GB sticks)
Sapphire 5750 vid card (biding my time for a GTX 680)
Storage drives are 2x Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB in RAID 1
OS drive is 5x Adata S599 64gb SATA II SSD's in RAID 0 for pure performance pleasure
    Corsair H80 CPU cooler
LG Super Multi Drive HD DVD/BD Rom drive (need to upgrade to a BD Burner that's faster).

I don't do much gaming, some black ops now and again, some racing here and there. No RPG's at all. First person shooters I like though. I do a LOT of Ripping and archiving of Blu-Ray movies though. Redbox is good for something at least. I can rip a Blu Ray to a mkv file in about 30-60 minutes dependent on size, and I can usually encode with Handbrake to a compressed MKV file at 1080P stlil in about 2.5-4 hours depending on movie length. I average about 15 FPS on any given encode and can't seem to improve upon that.
