    Default My journey to achieving my dream

    Since I was very young, I have wanted to become a police officer. Not to harass people, but to help people, and keep my city safe. For almost a year now, I have been going through the hiring process with the El Paso Police Department. So far I have passed every test placed in front of me. On Saturday, I attended the police academy preview day, and I quickly found out that running 2 miles in 10 minutes, and being strong for my size, is not going to cut it. However, I did not give up and I made it through the training. The academy starts in April, so I need to get in a lot better shape in two months. I really want to graduate from the academy, because not only is it my dream, but when the academy starts I will no longer be allowed to work at my current job, and can not be in school. Wish me luck.

    On a side note, some of you may know that my car has been down since september due to a blown trans. I finally saved up enough money and parts to fix it, and I towed it to the shop on friday. I am very excited to drive my car again.

    Congrats man! I am looking into becoming a reserve sheriff for the area I am. At some point in my life I would like to become an leo, it runs in my family and so far I am skipping a generation

    Thanks guys. I'll be the first one in my family. A cousin of mine got accepted into the border patrol a few years ago but didnt make it. He is a teacher now.

    And yup, I run the mile in 5 minutes. However, they had us do some crossfit training, and after the third go around, I felt like there was a wall in my nostrils. I just couldn't breathe, and everything was blurry, and my strength went away. I ended up towards the rear of the pack. The good thing is that now I know what to expect, and I will train accordingly.

    You saying you don't want to be an ordinary schmo like me who hates his job and only does it because he's is able to pay the bills and can only wish for the day that he can tell his boss who he loves more than his first born to take this job and shove is it up the deepest crevises of his ass and stir it while you're there who misses people you love in your life birthdays, graduations, baby showeres (I never go but it would be nice to have the option.) Or go to doctors,dentist and parent teachetingrcturings conferance meetings because you have to work 12 hours a day 6 days a week driving a forklift for a tile manufacuring company? How dare you try and live your dream!
