Default I have officially bought another toy...

Some of you may recall a earlier post by me trying to decide between buying a plane or getting a MKIV Supra. I have decided that I would be happier with the plane (mostly because I already have 2 sports cars, and my need for speed doesn't end on land ) That and I really love flying, and this little bird will allow me to do that whenever I want.

I ideally didn't want to do this now since I am saving up for building my own home in a year, however the company is selling the rights to the plane, so it was now or never.

The airplane is an ultralight design called the "Zipster". The company will build it for me over the next 12-18 months.

I get to choose how I want it painted, and I am having a hard time coming up with a paint scheme/color. I like the black with a little red idea. First I thought about silver to match my F-bodies but I looked at a few bi-plane designs that were silver, and they didn't look good, so silver is out.

I specifically wanted an ultralight. There are no altitude restrictions with an ultralight, so you legally can go as low as you want to. Also, with an ultralight you don't have to have a bi-annual FAA inspection ($), or have to have an FAA certified mechanic to do any maintenance (even more $). Its the easiest and most convienient way to fly just how I want to. Plus with the ultralight, I can take off and land in my back yard (when I get one).

As for the color, I wouldn't be caught dead flying anything that represented the Army .

I think I might go all black with a little red or white. Still not sure yet.

Thanks man. It's an expensive hobby (thank God I actually get paid to do it as a profession), but the ultralight will allow me to do it for very cheep.

Around 100 MPH. Honestly I'll enjoy cloud surfing and flying just over the tree line more than I would going extremly fast and pulling G's. I already had plenty of that experience via USAF pilot training. Now, I'm more looking forard to going up for pleasure rather than pain.
