    Default 408 pistons?

    im building a 408 and i want to run mahle pistons but cant find a part number just seeing if any one else has some ideas on what to run

    I'm not sure, but if you're really going to build a 408 LT1, there is a really long thread on CamaroZ28.com. Lots of info.

    yeah i have seen his stuff and it looks good im just seeing if anybody has a brand they think is better than the rest

    I bought my car with srp pistons installed, but during the rebuild ross custom pistons were used, 4.000" stroke, 5.85" rod. If i remember right, I was told the srp 408 pistons are no longer made.

    yeah the mahle ones are like 580 for a forged set

    There are a TON of better piston choices then Mahle

    If you're taking the time to build a 408ci LT1 then maybe you should consider just getting a nice custom piston and calling it good.

    i would love to but not really sure what brand to run what would you recomend in the way for a custom set

    Look into JE or SRP, they have some bad ass pistons.

    Diamond makes a pretty dang nice piston too, and I can vouch that a custom set of those run about $600.
