Temp.
How hot does you LT motor run? I got a 160 stat in my car but sometimes on hot days it will get up to almost 230 degrees. Whats a good way to make it run cooler?

You can get it tuned for the fans to come on earlier or get a fan switch.
Mines runs under 180 down the highway and at teh most 210 sitting still.1997 Trans am- M6- Ebay Longtubes, Summit X pipe with Magnaflows, CAI, Adj LCAs with relocation brackets, Comp engineering shocks, Competition stage 2 clutch.

Any questions regarding operating temperatures in LT1s can be answered by reading here: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#cooling
If you have any specific questions let me know I have a pretty decent knowledge of the cooling system on LT1s.

160 thermo and mezeire non hd electric pump and mine stays between 170-185
Alvin @pcmforless programmed my fans to come on sooner, but I also tweaked it a bit and made my high fans come on a bit sooner than his tuning

Your car should not be getting that hot with a 160 tstat, it should usually hang somewhere in the area of 170-185 even when sitting still. Only should spike a little above that on HOT HOT days sitting in traffic.
Did you have the fans reprogrammed for the lower tstat? This could be why its getting so hot. If you want to control the temp of your car better, think about getting a manual fan switch or wiring up one yourself.Nick

My fans turn on when my ignition is turned. Does the fan have different settings on it or something? Would it help after i got my car tuned. I think the timing is off barely?

I have a meziere ewp and 160 thermo, with a pcm4less tune and mine will barely budge above 160 when warmed up and stay there no matter how much I whip that ass.

I believe i got most of the air out of the lines. Is there a special kind of antifreeze. I got the regular stuff not the 50/50 crap. Would it matter the my new temp gauge is bolted into the CYCLINDER HEAD instead of the WATER PUMP???
