Thread: Unknown wires

    Default Unknown wires

Here are two pictures of two wires that are unconnected and I have no clue where they are supposed to go.

The wire I'm talking about here is the light green one. It's coming from the wire protector with the silver wrap around it. It's pretty long and right now I have it just dangling by the headers.

This wire is coming from under the dash close to the steering wheel. It's black and has a red stripe, or red with a black stripe.

What are these wires for and where do I connect them?

Yeah, are you the second owner of this car or something? Probably a prev. owner's abandoned project...

I would be willing to bet that wire is for a warning system for an electric water pump. I have done the same wiring in the same areas. I added a temperature sensor to the passenger side of the block and ran a wire to the gauges for a led warning light and buzzer. Could also be used for a simple gauge.

Yea, I'm not the first owner, I bought it and I've been trying to bring it back from a knocking engine and other SES codes.

More than likely it was a gauge or something similiar another owner took out, but didn't take the time to take out everything...
