US ARMY - Best Ranger Competition
I'm usually not one to brag but in this case I have to. My Brother-in-law is an Army Ranger in the 45th RANGER RGT. stationed at Fort Benning GA. This past weekend was the 26th annual Best Ranger Competition and he not only competed, him and his partner placed 3rd overall out of 50 2 man teams. The competition started at 6:05AM on May 8 and ended Sunday May 10 around 4:30 in the afternoon. Events ranged from buddy runs of unknown distance, combat rescue situations, stress shoots, obstacle courses, water confidence course, HELOCast, among other stressful demanding events. After the first day of comeptition only 24 of the 50 teams remained which should tell you how gruelling this really is.
I can't begin to explain how proud of him that I am. Of the top 3 finishing teams both 1 and 2 teams had competed in previous years, team 2 had both won the event in prior years with different partners. Only my brother in law and his partner were true "rookies" and finishing that high as a rookie team is very rare.
Here are some pics and a link.

Congrats to him and certinaly somthing to be proud of. We are very lucky to have people like him and his partner who are willing to do things like that not only in friendly competition but in real life. So us total strangers can work on and race our cars without fear.
