After college descision

Alright guys this has kinda been bugging me for awhile and I can’t decide on really what to do. My parents own a fairly descent size grocery store, and once my dad retires or I’m out of college I can buy him out (as in buy the store from him slowly), Ive grown up around the grocery store business my entire life and really like it because you get to talk to a lot of people and a lot of them get to know ya being I live in a fairly small town (2500 ppl). Also you have a lot of perks along with the store including free food basicly lol and awesome insurance. On the other hand I’m majoring in Computer and Network Security with a minor in Computer Forensics, with the possibility of landing a very good job or ending up with the FBI because my school is well known for their Computer Security program. The stuff Im learning is some pretty cool stuff and by the time I graduate I will fully know how to hack into about anything I would want to, and the job placement is guaranteed 100%. But im kinda torn about which way to go id really like to do both but I don’t think that would be a possibility…………..

If you like it, stick with computers. That's the best thing you can do for yourself. I mean.. what're you going to college for? Those guys make a lot of money.

I'd personally say go with the computers for several reasons, such as:

1. A lot of hassles come with owning a business that you wouldn't have to deal with if you went into a computer field.

2. Like you said, the job placement is 100%

3. You could get to see a lot of interesting places if you go into a computer field rather than being confined to a small town all of the time.

yea I'vekinda thought about a few of those reasons but if i end up marrying my gf which is more than likely going to happen she is going to be a nurse anethna somethign and make super good money and has a full ride through college but the kicker is she has to stay in south dakota for 5 years if she gets this scholorship all 4 yearsand another 2 once she goes back. So i'd be stuck around here anyways im guessing plus her mom has already basicly told us if we were to get married she doesnt really approve of movin far away.......but if i were to land a huge job or get in with the FBI i would move where ever and her mom would just have to deal with it sad to say but im not passin up a 100k+ job a year just so we can stay close to home for when she wants to see her daughter

lol thats what i was kinda thinkin i could run a pen (penetration) testing job off on the side, as in get hired to hack into buisnesses networks and then report back to them how i got in and how many holes they have and if they dont know how, help them fix it.

My opinion would be finish school and buy the family business. I plan on being a business owner someday. Right now I'm working for "the man" I want to eventually be "the man" others work for.
