My alarm will disable the lock button some how. Figured that out when i locked my keys in the car. If you're able to get the lock moved over it'll set off the alarm and make you unable to start the car.

i put an aftermarket alarm on mine several years ago and one of the remotes died within a year and the other one was on its last legs last summer (the disarm button was clearly jammed down and a feather touching it would activate it) and i knew sooner or later it would stay jammed down and cause me issues. i tried to get new remotes and the company was defunct and i bought some universal remotes which said "won't work on code hopping alarms" and even though i searched through the manual of the alarm i didn't notice the "code skipping" printed on the front page so those didnt work. luckily i was able to return them so i didn't throw $50 down the drain. i ended up paying an electronics shop $25 to professionally remove the alarm which they said wasn't installed very well in the first place. the car sits in the garage when not being driven and when my dad is home the car is blocked in (in the winter anyway) so its not like it's going anywhere

i had a 93 tbird SC that i found a cool anti theft system by pulling a fuse once.
I had a multifunction switch go out on me one night and the "flash to pass" was jammed on so even with the headlight switch off they still were on. i didn't feel like disconnecting the battery so i found the headlight fuse under the hood and pulled it out so the battery wouldnt die. the next morning i got in the car to go to the u pull it yard to get a new mf switch (the whole turn signal lever assembly on a ford) and i started the car and went to shift it out of park and it wouldnt let me. i was waiting on a new tranny because i lost overdrive but i knew that wouldn't cause me to not be able to shift out of park. then i remembered the fuse so i shut off the car, replaced the fuse and then was able to shift the car. apparantly the device that forces you to push down the brake pedal to shift out of park was on that fuse. so whenever i would leave the car somewhere for a long period of time, i'd pull that fuse and put it in the center console.

This is a cool way to do it. Relay that is triggered by the presence of a coded device (key chain or cig lighter plug in) in close proximity

Use that relay under the hood for a circuit that is vital to operation (fuel, ignition, etc). :-D
