Cold weather

Don't get me started lol. I am over this weather! At least it isn't dark out by 4pm.

For the first time in my 84 years I had to pay someone to clear the 100-ft long driveway w/ 30x30 apron, of about 12” of snow covered with a crust of ice. Sucker was a heart attack waiting to happen. Snow blower has been sitting unused for several years, and the fuel system is f’d up.

My son lives in Cooperstown, NY, had about 15” accumulation. But his driveway is 700-ft long with a 70-ft drop from the road. He parks his car at the top and walks up from the house. They’ve had sub 0 degree temps, with “feels like” as low as -20 degrees.

We had a slight chance of snow, then the front moved and we were spared. High teens and 20's with a wind chill that was to the bone. Its supposed to warm up a bit next week. It snowed last winter which is a rare in South Louisiana. I know how ya'll feel up there as I lived and worked up North in the 70's. After experiencing plenty snow and ice and one blizzard, I got the project finished, tucked my tail between my legs and headed back South. I was in my 20's then, now in my 7th decade I don't think I could take it.

Our grand-daughter lives in North Carolina. They've had days colder than we have in NJ.

That's a fact Fred, SIL lives near the Cherry Point Naval Base in North Carolina. There is supposed to be a blizzard coming. She may have to bring her hens indoors to keep them from freezing to death.

ive been getting my a** royally handed to me all week starting last saturday before the storm with a broken sprinkler pipe. trying to heat up 50+ year old buildings with single pane glass and a lack of boiler capacity has been rough.

i could do without more snow, thankfully that storm isnt coming here this weekend. today it was -4 when i got in the truck, and forecast to be -14 tomorrow morning

Dam thats cold! Had a check engine light on my truck earlier this week, wound up being the active grill shutter stuck open. I didn't even realize the truck had that shutter on it.
I recently bought a new scan tool(Autel MX900 Tablet) and was able to command it to close and open a few times. Seems to be okay now and the code cleared, must have been froze open?

was in jacksonville FL saturday, 84f and beautiful. drove 20 hours straight to beat the blizzard up here.
