Here's the vid of the 2 best passes. 1st clips are Blower only. second are on 100shot. I tried spraying it out of the hole and it killed the tire.

also what size alternator pulley should this thing have? we cooked the alternator somehow again. not sure why as it only sees 6500rpm

Shaun, mine has a AC DELCO CS144 style alternator with a 2.5” pulley and a ATI balancer with a 6.75” pulley. At 6500 the alternator is turning ~ 17,500. And I did cook t he previous alternator but it was the original to the best of my knowledge. Not sure but I think 18000 is max rec.?

I found the videos. It was cooking. Gonna show my wife what we could have done to her ‘94 that she decided to sell. Thanks for sharing. Oh, my alternator is stock replacement and the balancer is stock diameter.

turns out the delco pulley/alternator is a stock cs144 replacement and they pulley on it is a 2.3" od. i went thru the barn and in a tote we had 6 old alternators. all of them had the same 2.3"od pulley except 1, which was 2.6"

got home measured mine while i winterized my car, mine is a 2.6" od

also discovered while looking at the log the nitrous was off for 1.3 seconds (from 4.6 in the run until 5.9 seconds).......there was a 9 in it

I just eyeballed mine with a tape measure to the belt surface and called it 2.5 so it would be the same as your 2.6’s. Funny, I wanted to shine my original up when Idid the shiny valve covers. So I tore it down, polished the case, put new bearings and brushes and regulator in it. Looked pretty, but started acting up later. After monitoring it I discovered it was dropping out when it got real hot. I replaced it with a brand new AC-DELCO that works perfect hot or cold. The old one is a purdy paper weight in my shop.
Bummer on the nitrous program faux pas. Can’t wait to see the new results.

    deeper download on friday:

i removed the front sway, i softened up the rear konis to full soft, ended up not drilling new holes for the lca's BUT i did move the torque arm front mount down 1 hole to try to help anti-squat and also used the shorter of the 2 holes on the umi drag rear sway bar.

first pass was just boost only, barely footbraked. 17.5psi in tires (thats my always starting point) and it went a 10.58 at 130.39. 60ft was in the 1.5's. i was always told to leave in manual 2nd, so the trans has the overrun clutches engaged, and the car would auto shift 1-2 then i click D and itll auto shift 2-3 as well. for whatever reason, the car LEFT in 2nd gear, only made 1 shift in the pass. unsure what that was about. everything after this i left in D

second pass boost only, footbraked a little harder, everything else the same (tires were now around 18psi pre burnout as it warmed up: 10.54 at 129.33. 1.498 60ft

third pass left everything the same but added the nitrous. this is where things got real weird. i forgot to turn the nitrous switch on, BUT for whatever reason the car stumbled hard almost like it had a bunch of fuel added, which there shouldnt have been, since the nitrous switch was not on telling the holley to add the fuel. i punched it on launch and it just fell on its face, then took off to 1.7 60ft/10.80

4th pass figured try the spray again all-in, see if the track holds. mind you the track was pretty good at this point, my buddy in a ASAG nitrous foxbody almost put it on the bumper on 1 kit (he has never wheelied ever at island in 2 years) so it was definitely the time to try. well the suspension is NOT set up for radial racing, so it left and immediately knocked the tire 10-15ft out. i ran it out the back and this is where i got my first warning. on just 100 shot of dry nitrous ontop of the boost, 140mph at 10.46. DID NOT EXPECT THAT MPH

in the pits i went to change the fuel a little and suddenly the car went crazy lean and wouldnt run/died. voltage went nuts. we swapped primary/secondary pumps and the car started fine, swapped it back car started fine. made no sense. i asked @Ltconvert what he wanted me to do, he said try it one more time.

put a 1 second delay in the spray and went back up, figured get the car out of the hole and hopefully it stays hooked up. what i did not realize is i had it set to full timer reset, with holley this means if you exceed any safety you have set on the nitrous be it lean/rich/low/high rpm, it fully resets the timer. my mistake. we could not progress it because the holley output is pwm - and we had a regular relay on it, not the nos solid state (will be changed soon). got a 1.424 60ft with a 6.496/108.49mph eighth and it backhalved the track near 30mph to 10.16 at 138mph. i got a warning warning that time, but could smell something melting and wanted to get it back to the trailer.

all in all i think it was a decent day none-the-less. car has literally sat since last years rental, got it back together and made some small changes, goes and clicks off two new pb's both just on boost and on boost/spray. id like to make a few more changes to get a 9 second slip, but season is about done here and i work the next 4 weekends, so no time to race.

Dam it’s a lot of little things to keep up with when you’re sneaking up on the 9’s. The PWM output to a regular relay was a lightbulb moment I’m sure. It’s good that you’re keeping notes on what works and what doesn’t. My late friend Terry chased NHRA Stock class records for years with his Nova. He had to keep meticulous notes in a spiral notebook to remember what worked and what didn’t. He was chasing .001’s with a carburetor, can you imagine if he had been EFI,BLOWN AND SPRAYED That’s a lot of shit to keep notes on, good job bud.
