Supporting MemberAlso, i am really at a crossroads with the direction of this car currently. Starting to plan out the next steps, and i am torn between keeping it right where it is (i mean its a 9 sec street car after all) or going further (updating cage, which requires cutting up the car a little, going bigger heads and a single plane intake/throttle body for better nitrous distribution/more na power).
everywhere i take it people are always telling me how clean it is etc. i love taking it to the track, but i dont want to cut it up to conform to a class to class race. the track told me they were ok with me running into the 9.80's as long as i dont start cutting 145mph traps with the current cage config, but how long (knowing me) am i gonna make it before i throw a 9.7x pass....
its a tough call. if it was not a super clean lower mile car overall, i wouldnt care about going 8.50 cage etc. but like, the dash isnt cracked, i dont want to pull the windshield/dash and break something, etc. i have the cutlass which we dont care about and dont mind cutting up, but thats a bare bones roller right now.
one thing that has to happen this winter is a rear axle refresh. this one whines like a stuck pig and it definitely has some pinion slop. with the full exhaust the wine is now worse than the drone/exhaust in the car.
@Injuneer , whats your honest opinion on the cars direction? i know you did not want to sell it to someone who reverted it to mainly street duty (undoing alot of work) but what about going further, and faster?Last edited by SSlowBoat; 07-11-2023 at 03:25 PM.

No problem - I would have taken it further if I was 20 years younger. It was far enough beyond a street car that it wouldn’t have bothered me a bit to do whatever was required to run in the 9’s.
E’town was hard and fast on not running under 10.0 without an NHRA certified cage, competition driver's license, window net, gloves, neck brace, fire suit, etc., etc. I saw how it all worked with George Baxter. We took the car to Maple Grove for the roll cage certification, and again for the NHRA competition license two required sub-10-second passes. You also need a clearance physical for the license. Then there’s all the SFI parts recertification. Seemed overwhelming for someone my age.
If the tracks you run at just require the cage, it would be a whole lot easier. Go for it. Just put a little polish on all that aluminum under the hood.
PS: I have a like new set of 3.73’s for the 12 bolt, if they would be of any use.

I've always liked the cool factor of driving a 10sec car to the drag strip. To me that's a true street car.

Holley just makes everything easy.
If you know your WOT/cruise/idle timing and desired AFR throughout, you prob don't even need a tuner.
AND you can have one of the outputs handle your GV so you could do lockups on PCM command.Correlation does not imply causation.

Supporting Membertook it for a ride to island cars and coffee this morning. im thinking the evap line is clogged causing a deadhead situation back to the tank. fuel pressure starts creeping up and the car stalls once in a while, pulled the gas cap and it was very very pressurized.
also weighed it at a certified cat scale, 3720 with me/a fullish tank and full nitrous bottle20230715_122448.jpg
