Guess what's for dinner?
20220330_181345.jpg
Couldn't get the impeller off. Tried torching it, but propane wasn't enough and I didn't want the fins to get too hot or brittle. Put it on the grill for a bit and got the temp up to ~315F and was able to press it off. Still took a bit of effort with the 12 ton shop press. A friend is going to be powder coating the trans case black and I'm going to polish the volute before it goes back together..

Also finished this thing.

Got the blower case back from powdercoating. I polished up the volute in the meantime. Waiting on my friend to make a seal expander tool to put the blower back together.

Also made a bracket to hold the fuse panel and coil packs. Got that and the blockoff plate powdercoated as well.

Almost done with this monstrosity. Waiting on SS clamps for the feed tube. Had to do some cutting to the plastic bucket inside of the tank so the level sensor would clear.

Will you be able to service that fuse panel in that area?

So...
Dual pumps are finally in and all fuel lines are fabbed up with mounting scheme. I have yet to pressure test the system, but I'll start on that shortly.
The filler neck on the first Spectra tank I was sent was all jacked up and misaligned, so I had to RMA it. The replacement fit no problem.
Coils are mounted up and plug wires are crimped.
Next big hurdles are redoing sections of this Termi X harness and slapping the blower back together. I will also need to make an aux harness for the fuel pump and EWP power. And if I have time... straighten out this crooked ass Moser. Dunno if I have the patience for that atm. The clock is ticking.

Pressure tested the fuel rails and there was a pinhole leak at one of the welds. Had my guy redo it and all is well now. Took it up to 75psi and it seemed fine, base pressure will be 50psi.
Put the blower back together and threw it in the car. I'm currently in wiring hell. Have to shorten some leads, add extras, fab some small harnesses, etc.
I think I can get it running fairly quickly, but the VSS might take some time. Don't think the Termi X can handle an AC input from the VSS on it's i/o pins, so I will have to use a MAX9924 chip and an Arduino to do the interpreting. I'll also have the Arduino send square wave signals to the Holley and cluster.20220504_220228.jpg
