Yellow and brown go the the clutch start switch (the one that lets the car start only with the clutch pedal in).

Which car is the swap for? If it's the 96 the VSS will just plug right in, if you have the right harness.

Even with the M6 harness you will still have to wire up the reverse lights to the A4 connector inside the car.

When I swapped in a 94 m6 harness on my 94 a4 car, the gauge fuse would blow the second I went into reverse. I had to wire the sensor on the trans directly to the wires under the center console. Never figured out why that happens.???

Well, on an auto the "reverse lockout" wires run inside, while on a manual they run straight to the PCM. You probably ended up with some crossed wires when you swapped harnesses.

I'm just about done the T56 swap on my 94 and I'm having wiring issues also, I have purchased the correct t56 connectors from GM but they are not labeled at all and use the same color wiring on both sides So I don't know which was to wire up the VSS and the reverse lockout sol?? what did you end up doing with them? I did attach the 2 wires inside the console to the reverse light switch and tied the other 2 together for the hatch release. The yellow and brown I have going to the clutch pedal switch... what now?

Don't tie those 2 wires together for the hatch release. That tells the PCM the car is always in park, so the EGR valve never activates (not a problem with no EGR). The right way to do it is to splice the orange wire into the tan wire going to the E-brake. That way the hatch only works with the E-brake pulled (like a stock M6 car).

I forget the exact pins, but you should be able to see them on the new pigtail connector itself. Should be A and B. It really shouldn't matter, since the pigtail only has 2 pins and is just completing one circuit.
