Spark plug wires and vented opti conversion.
I am looking to replace plug wires over the winter. I noticed most kits included ten wires. After reading, it looks like the coil plug wire for vented and non vented optis are different. I am pretty sure I am using the same coil wire from my non vented opti. What is the difference between the two? Could this be hurting performance?

Supporting Memberits different on the coil side. one gets a standard 90 spark plug end and the other has two ends like what goes into the opti. if u did a nonvented opti msd cap that does the vent conversion to it it uses the 94 style wire. this would not hurt performance

I have an AC Delco opti, no MSD cap. The coil wire is the original 1994 wire with the 90 degree boot, it goes on OK, but it looks like vented optis have different coil wires.

coil is different for 96 so most plug wire sets include a coil wire for 94-95 and the other for 96. use the wire for your model year

I think it's time to replace anyways. It rusted while I was doing the H/C swap (took 5 years) I cleaned it up as best I could, but it's pretty much the only thing ignition related that isn't brand new.A little unburnt fuel left on the plugs, I don't think I'm getting enough spark.
