I was stationed at Vandenberg AFB, CA for tech school at my 6 month mark. The instructors were pulled from the classes so all the students had to hang out in the break room and watch tv. We thought it was fake at first, then we saw what looked like a plane hit, then the first tower fell. We were released to the dorms and the base was locked down. I'll never forget.

Will never forget. It was the big tragic event of out generation. I always heard my mother say where she was When JFK was killed. Heard my grandfather tell when he first heard about pearl harbor. I tell my Kids where I was when 9/11 happened. and not only the Planes but the scare of not knowing what was next for weeks to come. I was 21 and all the old timers at work talking about war and the possability of the draft. Major events were cancelled. I was getting married the following Saturday and we almost cancelled it due to 9/11. Even here out in the country there was an un sureness of what was going on. So no I can never forget

Well, on the bright side of things I was able to sponsor (through the company I work for) the 9/11 Heroes Run 5k at Ellington Field in Houston. It's one of my favorite events that I sponsor throughout the whole year. They bring all kind of badass Military vehicles, helicopters, boats, etc. I wish I would have gotten more pictures of them, but most of the pictures are for work purposes.

I love the event, because of how much it brings people together and the sense of honor and to do good in the community in every aspect. Locally, city, state, for our country, and for mankind.

Like the Alamo, where everyone was massacred, we should turn this negative event into a bonding battle cry to fight terrorism and turn it into moment in time where the line was cross and we put some good ol' American foot in some ass!

I was stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC at 2nd maintenance battalion. We had just finished a 10 mile boot and ut run and were getting some food at the chow hall, the only thing they played on the TV's was CNN. Everyone in the chow hall went quiet, it was the most unreal thing i have ever seen. After a few minutes we were all sent to our barracks and awaited word from our squad leaders and commanders. I will never forget that day.

My adult life as I know it exists because of that date.

I had worked in factories and been a correctional officer when the Government stood up the US DHS. My resume was picked up off of monster.com and I came on board on 9/8/2002. Celebrated my 14th year with the Federal Government last week (obviously).
