I believe there are two programs that will write for the older OBD2 LT1, jet Spectrum tuner I believe part number 14005, for LT1 edit.
If you purchase the jet Spectrum tuner and plan on using USB port instead of a serial port, play understanding is that the most USB to serial Port converter works the best with the jet software. The best price I found for jet Spectrum software is off of amazon.

I use the JET DST on my 96' with good success. I did have to order a compatible USB to serial converter online that was about $30. The one large downfall to the DST is no datalogger.
Take to extremes and DOMINATE!
