Default New in the Dfw area-96 Roadmaster Wagon

My name is Steve. I have a 1996 Roadmaster wagon that is an original all black car (wood grain delete). It has gone through significant changes on the suspension to make it handle well. Just finished a complete front suspension rebuild with all the Moog severe duty stuff, new custom springs front and back from Crown Suspension, tubular rear control arms and huge front and rear sway bars along with performance shocks. The car has 256k on it and the original lt1 is still running strong and getting 23+ mpg on the highway! But, the car handles as well as many newer sports cars- has custom 17" wheels and big nitto rubber. I just finished a 383 Stroker short block w/ mostly forged parts (6" rods) the F-body aluminum heads were originally done years ago by Lloyd Elliott - so he is currently re- doing those. He is also porting the intake and ordered a custom ground cam for the combo! I will still need 58mm tb and bigger injectors and it looks like a set of Dan's tri- y headers. The 4l60e is being rebuilt to handle the new horsepower and will get a Yank or similar 32-3600 convertor and a set of 383 gears. After the engine is installed- I will need a tuner and will add big brakes to complete the car. Thanks for allowing me to join the group!

    I'm loving the big body!
Theirs so much that I'm liking about your car. The wheels fit your car nicely, black car, big body, roomy, and it's getting a stout engine.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes! A little update on the wagon- the new suspension is way too much for the tires! So, went to a local tire place and they re-measured the custom wheels I have now- (I couldn't recall how wide they were) Turns out the fronts are 17X8.5 and the rears are 17X10. So, I will be able to put a 285/40ZR17 on the front and a 315/35ZR/17 on the rear! Now that will be a nice BIG patch of rubber to hold the wagon a little better in the corners! But first, I need to finish getting the heads and intake back from Mr. Elliott's shop, put the engine together, rebuild the trans and get the big converter in, install the engine and exhaust- then, I can upgrade the brakes to big 4 wheel disc and then replace the rubber! That's today's plan, anyways!

If youre in the Dallas area, the Ricekiller meets have a ton of cars and a lot of laid back guys in a no BS atmosphere. If you google it you will find plenty of info on them.
