    Default 700r4 kick down issue

I recently got a 93 camaro z28 has a lot of bolt ons and a vigilante 3600 stall. The trans is out of a truck I installed it 6 years ago for the previous owner. It has a large cooler and an lines and all to keep it cool and a deep ribbed pan. It's been sitting 5 years I've changed fluids I drive it around. It shifts through all the gears and down shifts as normal. But no matter what gear it's it when I go WOT it does not kick down. After talking to the previous owner he said it randomly stopped doing that before it was parked. It was parked due to a bad fuel pump and melted pump hose.

I have no experience with 700r4s should I try adjusting throttle or detent cable or is this a internal issue u think? Any info helps. I've had many of these cars but never a 93.

Look and test the kick down module. It has been awhile since I have worked with a non computer controlled. @Cahall would be a good contract person.

Is your upshift timing correct? Does it make a-2 shift at 15-18 MPH and a 2-3 at 35-38 MPH? My guess is that the truck trans has the wrong governor and someone has misadjusted the throttle valve cable to compensate for it. The throttle valve controls kickdown. It's either stuck or the cable is adjusted incorrectly.

Yes it shifts very early 1 through 3. 4th is hard to say speedo is off due to a gauge overlay install gone wrong. 2nd gear switch is right after take off. So what should my next move be?

    Thank you very much

Install the correct governor and adjust the throttle valve cable correctly.

Where is a good place to buy the correct one. And should I replace the TV cable at the same time?

    I
m pretty sure I can still get the governors from my supplier. Did you use the throttle valve cable originally on the LT1 or did you try to use the truck cable?

Not sure I literally just put the trans in and converter 6 years ago when someone else owned it. IIrc it is the lt1 cable.
