Sudden death opti?
Hey guys! Site has been a big help! First post comes with a question! Did the swap into 88 camaro, started 4_5 times, then cranks great but won't start! Newer opti, but motor sat for about 4 yrs before starting! Just doesn't make sense to me! Thanks for any info!

Follow shbox.com icm and opti signal test with a multi meter to confirm opti is in fact sending signals to computer and then computer to icm then icm to coil.

Always a good idea to scan for codes. Loss of the Opti cam position sensor pulse signals will set one or both of two codes. Loss of low resolution pulse shuts down the fuel system, but doesn't turn on the SES light. Check the fuel pressure also. Then check for spark at the plugs, to make sure the rotor screws have not fallen out.

Also important that you provide info as to the year of the LT1 engine and the year of the PCM. There are numerous subtle differences from year-to-year that may affect the responses.

hey guys sorry about the time frames! checked it out per your suggestions and found a broken wire behind the opti tail on the intake! all 95 z parts! thanx for the input, not too much help here local, everyone giving me a hard time for going LT not LS! thanx for all the posts this site is second to none!!
