    Default Crank sensor leak

So I've had an oil leak from the front of the engine for a while and after replacing all the seals up front I have determined that it is coming from the crankshaft position sensor. There is an o-ring that goes around the sensor and seals to the timing cover that looks like the culprit. Does anyone know where you can get a replacement without buying the whole sensor? I tried the parts store ones, but they where too fat. This o-ring looks flat on the sides. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you go to ACE Hardware? They normally have a bunch of odds and end type things.

Shoebox gave you a part #....although they may be hard to find your local dealer should be able to do a parts/dealer search. Although you may have to buy whatever count they are bagged in.

Beyond that take the sensor to a good hardware store and see it they have something that works

or try some RTV around your existing O ring

assume you have confirmed the crank sensor 0 ring is in fact your leak source vs the wp drive seal. The CPS is typically the low point oil will migrate to on a TC seal leak...

Yep, jegs has the 5-pack for $15. AC-Delco number 219-194.

I just got through changing the opti and I did all the other seals while I was in there. It's dripping from the bolt that hold the sensor in and the bottom of the sensor is covered in oil.

Been there done that. I hate that sensor. I could never get it to stop leaking like you describe. I replaced the o ring and tried everything else. It could very well be something higher up like previously stated where it may look like it's coming from there but it's really not.

I Had to swap to a obd1 style timing cover when I did my obd1 swap to get it to stop. Lol
