Help needed on VSS sensor wiring for custom application FAST XFI/stock PCM
Hi,
I am in the process of eliminating some of the wiring from my stock wiring harness and need to figure out a specific problem for the VSS sensor. To give a little background, I am running a FAST XFI 2.0 with a standalone engine wiring harness. I am tapping some of the wires from the stock harness into the FAST XFI harness to run the fans and fuel pump.I am using the stock PCM to run the speedometer and I am keeping the stock gauges in the dash. I am keeping the VSS sensor and it will run into the stock PCM to run the speedometer. However, I would also like to hook up the VSS to the FAST XFI PCM to track vehicle speed and calculate converter slippage, etc. My question is can I splice into the two VSS wires and run them into the FAST XFI? I am not sure if voltage is sent through the sensor via the stock PCM or if it is just a magnetic signal. Any help will be appreciated. Trying to get the car fired up before the end of the month and the wiring is taking a lot longer than expected.
Thanks in advance,
Matt

I wouldn't split the VSS wire to two different items. Reason being is it's susceptible to signal degredation. It may work but I can't say specifically that it will.
Your best bet for a solid answer would be to post up on the CPGNation forums in the XFI Help section. I know Brian Macy and a lot of other high profile XFI guys post there all the time and are always willing to help.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will see what they say at CPG.
