YES, 100% An offender is an offender. Period. Wouldnt want to "discriminate" and treat anyone differently based on race, age, sex, etc. AGE does not matter. She chose to fight... she gets put down and in custody as quickly and with as much force is necessary to affect an arrest. Clearly was not enough force for her to comply as he still needed to fight to get her hands behind her back.

As I stated before... felony agg assault... felony resisting arrest.

No offense but thats a terrible mindset of which I can't fault cops for having since majority of people seem to make your lives tough but wow.

I would love to see the training that states for controlling a small suspect is to chokeslam them into the ground.

Videos like this only perpetuate the "us vs them" mentality.

You are aware this cop has a previous excessive force case being brought against him and juuust cause he is a cop you don't NEED to defend him?

Its not a terrible mind set. Its the mind set society has dictated. Discriminate against someone because of age race sex, etc... and society complains. So here u go society... do the crime... do the time.

As for a prior complaint... that means nothing. Complaints are like bellybuttons. We all have em. There does not need to be any merit for a complaint to be filed.

As far as Im concerned... as a supervisor... as an sro... as a police officer for over 14 years... that was text book.

The moment u treat some one special because of sex... age... whatever, is when we have put our guard down.

Resisting arrest... is resistinf arrest. As I stated before she made the decision to escalate the situation. The officer reacted appropriately.

Check the news... 3rd video has the chief back peddling on his previous comments. Unfortunately the chief failed to do a proper investigation before deciding the officers fate.

The cop that got fired is gonna be able to sue and live comfy for sure, he was terminated on a feeling versus legitimate reasons so shame on the chief IMO. The social media keyboard warrior clan needs to be quieted more than ever.

That being said, lets switch this around, say you as a SRO are walking to your car, and come across a child saying no to moving and getting out of car. You then watch the parent grab the child and toss them across the floor.

That is all fine and dandy with you? Cause I am almost 100% that's a police call and dyfs coming knocking. So why is it ok if an authority figure does it?

The part that is missing from ur theory is the fact that she commited a crime prior to being "tossed." Thats why it cant be compared.

Its the crime that she commited when she resisted and assaulted the police officer that escalated the force to the "toss."

I understand what ur trying to compare, but it misses the key element of felony actions that the school incident does have.

Believe me, I understand by the letter of law I am sure he is clear in what he did, but to me that in no way justify how he treated her. Argue all you want but that girl posed no threat what so ever to him and hiding behind the clause of she struck him is laughable. If you believe the news articles he is quite the PL (gear whore but I digress), he knew hes strength well enough to have avoided this IMO.

Didn't you mention something awhile back of only elevating reactionary force if the force is needed? IE, don't shoot someone if you can tase them, or mace etc...?

Exactly, the cop seemed to have a horrible sense of discretion. Its a high-school girl, in class.

Acceptable force is that force that is needed to complete the arrest. Thats what he did.

You may think its laughable, however the most dangerous part of an arrest is th moments between making the decision to take someone into custody right up till they are in custody and unable to resist.

Guess its good, you guys are not police officers. Same as people saying, shoot a bad guy in the leg rather than shoot to stop (which means kill) the threat.

Its all good. We will continue to hunt the evil you guys pretend does not exist.
