    The setup will dictate which pump you should buy. Electric is best for street/strip and mechanical is best for autox/road racing. An EWP will get the job done for short bursts in a street car. The only way to get the electric to cool as effectively for prolonged heavy load would be to run 2 in parallel with a custom remote setup. Around 4-4.5k engine RPM is where the mechanical pump surpasses the electric. It's hard to say what RPM the mechanical starts to cavitate though...

    Personally, I would go with a Meziere HD EWP because the mechanical ones are definitely more troublesome. I've seen 2 of them go on friend's cars within the past year or two.
