Default MAF sensor code 0100 and popping a fuse. Anyone have a 96/7 wiring diagram?

My sons 97 formula is running with its new motor and has a 0100 code for the MAF. I shot the wires and the yellow is good to the pcm and has a 5 volt signal, ground is also good but the pink wire shows continuity to ground and i don't think it should. I would like to know where that wire routes and how it does so through the harness so i can look for the issue.

Maybe related but unknown as once again, i cant find a wiring diagram, but the #10 engine compartment fuse (listed as engine sensor on the cover) is popping.

as a side note, the abs light is on and my abs scanner fails to communicate with it... the rear brakes aren't getting fluid and the mc and lines from it to the abs pump are new. i haven't worked on that as i am still tackling other things on the car.

it is likely these were issues before we tore the car down, most every light that could be on in the cluster was. We put about 25 miles on the car and tore it down for a motor, rearend, springs struts shocks, ls brakes and more...

so i am trying to remedy these 2 issues before we hit the road. tia for any help.

Found this info from Injuneer's post.
Key on/engine off check for 12V between the pink wire and the white/black wire in the harness connector. If you have 12V and there are no bent pins in the connector, most likely its a deceased MAF sensor.
The fuse supplies power to the O2 sensors, auto trans controls and brake switch according to the Owner's Manual. If the fuse blows again, you will have to look for a problem on all of those devices. But as noted, the pink wire seems to break in the wiring harness on the 97'.

Also, the harness that runs down by the passenger side header can get melted if it's touching or too close to the header.

Like you said the pink wire shouldn't be grounded.

i verified the MAF was good, easy as i have other f-body cars. Obviously no power on the pink since it is grounded. Thanks for the info, its a start. If the pink wire failing is common, any idea if it occurs in a common area of the harness? odd on the 02 sensors as i remember them (upstream only as downstreams are gone will get tuned out once the car is on the road) giving a reading on my scanner but will double check that.

odd, i do get a reading from both upstream o2 sensors. i haven't had a chance to check anything else.

i had a spare abs module so i swapped it out after checking the lines and finding them good. i have fluid to the rear now but still no comm with the abs scanner

spartan7, whatever you posted isnt working.

finally got my hands on some schematics. the pink wire to the MAF is powered by this same circuit and the o2 oddity is that this circuit is just for the heaters, not the PCM signal.

Sooooooo, what was my issue? bank 2 o2 sensor had an internal short in the heater circuit... that was fun to find
