Default So my father bought a new toy...

He's been wanting one for a while now and he found a good deal on this Friday and brought it home.

Needed some minor things to be race ready, radiator flushed and the fuel line to the carb fixed, extra set of tires mounted and it was ready to go.

He took it for it's maiden race last night and brought it home like this.

Really not bad since he hasn't raced in 10 years or so. I'm sure I'll end up destroying it much more.

Thankfully, we have friends who have old used parts off race cars they're willing to give us. Haha. Car actually has an interesting story behind it....the car originally belonged to my dads lifelong friend Jimmy, who then sold the car to my cousin Jeremy, who then sold it to a guy in Tennessee, who then sold it to a guy up near New York, who, tore the car down to the frame and cage, redid the sheet metal, rebuilt the engine from pan to air cleaner, ran it one time, and then sold it to us. The 3 speed stick that's in it, originally belonged to my dad. He gave it his friend Jimmy to use years ago. He said he had a blast racing and is extremely excited for the next race.

Jimmy went up with my dad to look at it and didn't realize it was his old car until he saw the stickers (which I will get pics of cause they're cool) were still in the cabin. And then they lifted the hood off and saw a number 14 sticker still sitting on the roll cage which was my cousins old number. We did have to adjust the pedals since it's easier than readjusting the seat. I'm 5'9" and to get the clutch even halfway down I was hyper extending my leg.
