So the plan is this (for now), pull the 383 and getting the junk pistons out, rebalanced, then since it's going to be apart, swap the turbo cam in and upgrade the valve springs. Then I will start working on the turbo setup. I'm going to have a rebuilt stock bottom end on hand to run na in case I can't get it to come together before the shootout. That being said, with the room under the hood I've been thinking about this...

Decisions decisions....
Picked up a super victor and victor Jr intake, and an edelbrock 4500 throttle body a while back. The only issue I see here is getting the injector bungs out far enough where the fuel rail won't get into the throttle body linkage. Just eyeing it up it looks close but doable. The other option is just to build/buy an elbow and run a regular throttle body. That's quite a ways out so I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Pretty sure I'm going to try and do the cage too so it may not make it under turbo power this year. We'll seeChris

Think you can have the turbo set up and going by the shootout. That would be a crazy thrash

I think I can get either the turbo or cage done, but not both

If you can clear the 4500 TB with a nice tall elbow then def do that, otherwise, a nice tall carb spacer plate and tall sweeping elbow to a 90mm or larger LS1 TB will work just as well for our range of HP goals

Yea I'm watching it, watching it get scratched. Nothing major but every time I get in the engine bay something gets dinged.
I'm going to drop the engine off at the machine shop and let him go through the whole thing since I'm short on time and start mocking up the turbo setup with a bare block and cast heads. I really don't want to go through this process again.Last edited by firebird_1995; 07-04-2015 at 07:36 PM.
