Thread: USA made slave cylinder?

Well, the Duralast one is definitely Chinese. I might spring for the Wagner, I've heard good things about that brand. Does anyone know if the RPM Speed ones sold by WS6store are Chinese? I asked Mike and he said it doesn't say anywhere on the product itself, which to me says China.
Heck, I didn't even ask... Any sponsors that can help me out here?1997 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 clone | Build Thread | - just needs paint!

Good to know, I'll check NAPA tomorrow.
That's the problem with AC Delco these days, a lot of their crap is made in Mexico or even China. My Dad said the same thing about "Assembled in USA".But if you look up the FTC laws about it, it says "A product that includes foreign components may be called "Assembled in USA" without qualification when its principal assembly takes place in the U.S. and the assembly is substantial. For the "assembly" claim to be valid, the product’s last "substantial transformation" also should have occurred in the U.S." So I'd take that over China any day.

FWIW I got mine at O'Rielys auto part store. Online it appeared to have the same markings as the stock one.
It was exactly the same one. different brand box but was the exact same as stock
My McLeod Street Twin came with a new MC (Wilwood) so I got a new slave when I did that clutch swap. The O'Rielys one I got was exactly the same a s stock96 BBB 383/T56

WTF? Mine is from Autozone like a month ago. Came in a Duralast bag and the slave has Made In USA in raised letters.

I believe you, but the one I got was definitely cheap chinese.
Just so we're on the same page, did yours look like this? This is the very old GM one I currently have.

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered the Wagner slave (ABS plastic version). I was looking at the pics of it, and it has the Automotive Products emblem on it like the one I have, so hopes are high. If not, oh well it's going in anyway. I want to drive the car again. I should have it by Friday hopefully, so I'll update when I get it.

The one I got with my combo was identical except the numbers in the center were slightly different but all the other markings were exactly the same, same AP stamp and Made In USA.

Slave cylinder arrived. And it says Made in USA on it
. Exact same part as the old one. I already removed the old and installed the new, got the hydraulics bench bled, and the pedal feels much better.
Just for reference, I ordered Wagner part # SC132010. I got it off fleabay for $42, pretty good deal. Came with a new roll pin and O-ring. Also, I didn't know Wagner was owned by Federal Mogul. I'll definitely keep Wagner in my better brands list now. Hopefully this helps someone else looking for a quality part. Thanks for all the help guys, very much appreciated.1997 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 clone | Build Thread | - just needs paint!
