    Default Tire options.

Hey guys, so I know our cars are pretty well known for having crappy traction in the rear, especially with M6 cars. So, Im wondering how bad having 245s in the back is? I'm looking at Riken Raptor ZRs that are 245/45/17, and I can get them for around $70 each. Right now I'm rocking 315/40/17 in the back and 245/45/17 in the fronts both Nitto brand (I think 555rs, hell if I knew). But how much traction loss am I looking at? I can't even smoke these 315s so. I know going to a 245 will mean less traction. I DD this car spring to fall. Summit has 275/40/17 in these tires, but they are 120 each. Thoughts? Recommendations? Don't wanna break the bank on tires as I am a broke/notbroke college student! Rims are 17x9.5in

My best suggestion is on a 9.5 go 275 at the least

Are 275s going to rub up front? Because I'm having no cornering problems with the 245s. I'd rather not do the BFH mod either lol

Stock size with the 17" rim option was 275/40/17 so you won't run into any problems provided the offset of the rim is correct.

No I wanna get away from 315 because they rub, and they are splitting from hanging over too far and are like 80% dry rotted. I can spin them.. a little. Bolt on LT1 problems. But I'm no burnout master like some of you guys here :P Don't wanna be spinning the wheels all the time if you catch my drift. I see the prices on 275s, and go from there.

I didn't even know 17in rims was an option. I thought it was 16in rims with available 245 tires. You learn something new everyday.

Riken raptors actually suprisingly handle decent. 275/40/17 all around. They stick better than nitto invos and smoke up good when you roast em

IDK man... I run 315s on my camaro on the 18s.... and I run 295s on the TA on the 17s. Neither rub... but its all about proper wheel and maybe slight modifications.

My STOCK TA has no issue obliterating the 295s...
