Different set up. This is a chip used to keep the computer coing when u fry it while tuning. @firebird_1995 can prob be more technical in the explaination.

What I've got/do is take cores that have been "bricked" and replace the corrupted chips with sockets, then put new chips in the sockets. This makes it so if you have an issue while tuning, you can open the case and swap the chips and be on your way. At one time I had a thread up advertising what I did and just got too busy like I always do towards the shootout and had larry remove it. I don't mind doing a few here and there but it was really starting to take off there for a while and got overwhelming. Some guys can go years and never have a problem while flashing them and some have to walk around the car 3 times, clap twice and sacrifice 2 doves in order to keep them from bricking. I think some computers (and cables for that matter) are just better than others to use for tuning. I personally would grab his core anyways and use it until you decide what you want to do. I typically charge $50 extra if you don't have a core anyways so you can't lose there.
