    I saw one guy who used a pipe cutter to trim the black shaft and then snipped the white part.....he had detailed directions on some forum....I'll try to find it

    Thanks for the reply, please let me know if you find it!

    As most of you know, the shifter lever has two vertical grooves (one on each side), and if I cut down the lever it will be very hard to recreate them due to the white stick being in the way. That is why I would like to know if there is any way to remove it.

    I guess I could just go without the grooves, but the knob would be so much more stable with them!
