I'm in just not of changes yet if any. I might just run it the way it is and make some changes next year. I wish someone close had an engine dyno I want to play with a couple of single planes and see what happens.

Sorry guys, but this is a dumb rule. What is the basis for the 200 lb penalty? Or any penalty?

I understand where you are coming with this, but we went with a weight penalty to give the nod to the guys still staying with the LT1 PCM and Opti. The advantages with the aftermarket EFI is pretty significant of the stock computer. It came down to a weight penalty for aftermarket stuff or a weight break for guys still running LT1 PCM and Opti. The only reason we have this event is because people have pushed the limits of the factory stuff and we think guys still getting it done with the Opti should have the break.

There was quite a bit of disagreement about the use of aftermarket and 24x conversions, especially in this class, however the basis was that anything other than the stock pcm had an advantage and it was put in place to try and level the playing fields for the guys that still run an opti. Gump went into retirement after the 2013 Shootout. I have had a lot of fun running with you guys. There is still a bunch of good LTX stuff in my shop, so you never know what the future holds.....

You really think that the advantage is that much? Or is this just a crutch for the guys without much of a combination?

Understood. I am just not much for the notion of taking one in the name of car count for the privilege of requesting a "level playfield" next time.
